FTS corporate headquarters moving to the Seneca building to accommodate growth, maximizing a dynamic work environment

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — FTS, Inc. is moving its corporate headquarters to the Seneca building in the heart of downtown Rochester. With momentous growth, a 344% increase in headcount over the last 24 months, FTS looks forward to expanding its office space by 246%, from 5,000 square feet to over 17,300 square feet of custom built-out space.

The move reinforces the notion that downtown Rochester is “rapidly becoming a true hub of forward-thinking, innovative companies,” says Matt Hurlbutt, President, and CEO of Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE). “GRE is pleased to continue to support FTS’s growth as it serves as a conduit for recruiting top-tier talent to companies expanding throughout the Greater Rochester, NY region.”

As FTS is spearheading the return to a flexible in-person workplace model, they see the benefits of upsizing to be monumental for not only internal employees, but all stakeholders involved.

“Our primary focus is always the stakeholder experience and that was at the core of our decision to expand our office,” says Thomas Carpitella, CEO of FTS. “The moment someone steps into our office, they will immediately notice that we’re not your average company and see our commitment to building a company that this region has never seen before through building authentic relationships, solving our partner’s most challenging problems, and deeply reinvesting back into our local Rochester communities…”

FTS partnered with CBRE Rochester to assist in finding the perfect location for FTS, where collaboration and culture was top of mind. CBRE efforts led to FTS working with Gallina Development Corporation, a local Commercial Development Corporation who is just as passionate about growing the city of Rochester as they are.

Gallina hopes this move invites an array of businesses to follow suit and help push the Rochester business community to expand further.

“FTS can be a leader and a model for other young companies looking for their permanent home,” says Evan Gallina, Manager at Gallina Development Corporation. “Adding critical mass to our center city will only help the continued attraction of other businesses, such as restaurants, bars, and amenities.”

FTS strives to be an employer of choice and understands employees throughout the country have a desire for a dynamic workplace environment as it allows everyone to work in their preferred setting under one roof.

“Not only will our new headquarters allow us the appropriate footprint to house our expanding team but will offer employees several different types of workspaces so everyone can accomplish their best work in an environment that supports individual workstyles,” says Jennifer Thistle, Head of Growth and Strategy at FTS.

FTS ensured this was possible in their new space as it provides private rooms for individual or smaller team-based collaboration, has multiple common spaces with several types of seating, spacious conference rooms and bar top seating overlooking Parcel 5. To help facilitate employee work-life integration, the office also includes a child and infant care room dedicated to providing new parents a space to support their family needs.

“FTS was not only focused on quality of space, nearby walkable amenities, and attractive terms, but they also prioritized a future partnership with a landlord that shared their values and outlook on what being successful in Rochester means,” says Alex Amorese, an associate with commercial real estate firm CBRE Rochester.

FTS expects to complete its move to its new location in late August.
